Fall Party and Ideas for you!

Tara's Puzzle

Hello! Today I want to share with you some pictures of a little Fall "party" I did the other night. It was just my family and me, but it was fun. Hopefully, you will get some ideas from this post, and perhaps you'll want to have your own!

Plan
Begin by planning. Plan a date, some activities, and a snack and/or drink you'd like to have.

Games
  Guessing Contest
One idea for a game is to get a small jar filled with Reeses pieces. You could use M&Ms or Skittles, but Reeses Pieces are Fall-colored. Count them, and write the amount down somewhere. Cut out a little paper for each guest, and at the party let everyone write their guesses down (of how many are in the jar). Whoever's closest keeps the candy!

How much do you remember game
Another fun idea is to find lots of little odds and ends and divide them between two trays. Split the guests into two teams and let them each have a tray for a few minutes. Take the trays away, and have each team write down as many things as they can remember. Whatever team remembers more wins!

Homemade Mad Libs
This was quite fun! Ahead of time, write a short story (or a few) Leave lots of spaces blank, and go around the table asking for words without letting anyone else see the story. Write down what they say, and be sure you specify what type of word you need, such as "Girl name" or "place." Here's an example:
_________ loved to do crafts. One day she got out her ________ and put a __________ on it. Then she _________ and ________ it. When she finished, it was a _________!
You can make it however long you want. After you fill in the words at the party, read it out loud for a good laugh!

Coloring
You can look up free Fall coloring pages online to print out. Bring out some crayons and everyone can color one.

Snacks

Apples

Caramel

Walnuts, chocolate, and coconut

We dipped apples in caramel, and then in other toppings. It was fun!

I also made decaff pumpkin lattes in the Crockpot.

Invitations
Whether your'e inviting friends over, or just doing it with your family, invitations are fun for you and your guests! You can make them on a computer and print them out, or just make them by hand.
I made these little invites for our family on Word.
Prepare
This includes doing anything you can ahead of time. For me it was printing the coloring pages, making and printing the Mad Libs, making the caramel, getting out the things for the "What do you remember?" game, and some other things.

Finishing Touches
Right before the party, you can decorate, cut up apples, and do whatever else you need to do.

Have Fun!
Here's a very important part—have fun! Don't get too stressed, don't over-plan; try to make it fun for everyone!

Have you done anything fun this Fall? Have you ever thrown a Fall party?

  5. We have a tradition where each year we have a big fall bonfire (or at least, we try to) at our house (think, 100+ invited!). It's always a highlight! My dad grills out hot dogs, my mom and I set out food and decorate/manage the hot cocoa bar. Everyone brings their own chairs or blankets. When it gets dark we light the bonfire. Some years we've shared testimonies and sang hymns around the fire. There's always a good game of Red-Rover going on with the kiddos, and some flag football with the guy crew! Then we end the night roasting Smores, until everyone fizzles out. We love it! I think we'll have to add the candy guessing game one of these years! ;) We also have bought a Christmas coloring-tablecloth for the dining room table inside, so those that don't want to brave the cold have something to do... even big kids and adults have ended up doodling! ;)
