Redeeming the Time

Picture from Pinterest (Edited; words added)

Hello! Today I want to talk about redeeming the time. Are you doing something meaningful with your life? Something that will last? Colossians 4:5 says, "Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time." Are you redeeming the time? This doesn't mean you may never rest, but are you using your time wisely, or are you wasting it away? Are you spending days upon end living for yourself, or for Jesus

Here are a few reasons why we should be living for God, rather than for ourselves.

1. The things we do to enjoy ourselves (go on Pinterest, play games, etc.) will not last. While it's okay to do these things occasionally, we should remember that in the end,  "Only what’s done for Christ will last."  Are you doing things that will matter in the end?

2. We will only be satisfied if we are serving God. When we live for ourselves, we will feel empty. We were made with a need for God, and without Him, we will never be filled.

3. There are so many people that need help! You can't help everyone, but you can make a difference in the lives of many people. In fact, we already are making a difference. We have to make sure it is a good difference.

Ephesians 5:16-17 says. "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."

How do we know what God's will is?
"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6   Pray about everything, and He'll give you direction.

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." James 1:5   Pray for wisdom, and God will give it to you.

Here's one more verse to close on-

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13
