Hello! Today I have a guest post to share! It's written by my dear friend, Salamanca River, who loves to read. Enjoy!
I'm going to write about a book I read recently, by one of my favorite authors...
It is called "Out on the Pampas" or "The Young Settlers", by G.A. Henty. The story begins in England during the mid 1800s with the Hardy family. The Hardy family consists of Mr. and Mrs. Hardy and their children, Charley, Hubert, Maud, and Ethel. They decide to emigrate to Argentina, South America. They all learn Spanish and other things such as farming, hunting, riding, carpentering, and cooking to prepare them for life out on the pampas. When they are finally ready to go, they decide to bring their maid, Sarah along too. Once they reach South America they live with the Thompson family, who are old friends of theirs. Mr. Hardy then buys twenty-five thousand acres, and with his sons and a few hired men go there to start building their house. When their house is completed Mrs. Hardy and her daughters join them. The Hardys go on all kinds of adventures, such as when Ethel is captured by the Indians, and Mr. Hardy and his sons set out to rescue her. I really enjoyed this book, and the other G.A. Henty books I've read too.

Sounds like a great book, I'll have to pick it up some time!
