‘Twas the night before Christmas... every creature was stirring

Hi everyone! Here is my version of the night before Christmas, featuring our seven cats.

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Every creature was stirring, the cat chased a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the front wall with care,
In hopes that tomorrow soon would be there;
The children were joyful, doing various things
Christmas movies, and stories, and songs did they sing.
And Mamma at the table, finishing a Christmas gift,
And Father in the car, running to get tape real quick.
  When sitting on the sofa baby lay on sisters lap
He had  just settled down for a quick winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should be that
But our plastic green sled and all seven cats
The sled had been out in our yard for a span
I knew in a moment what must be their plan
More rapid than eagles they put things away
They mowed and they weed whacked and bailed up the hay

"Now, Tabby! now, Shadow! now, Monty and KC!
On, Princess! on Faithie! Let’s go go go go!
To clean off the porch and the yard, yes, it all
Now get to work! Get to work! Get to work all!”
‘Twas Miracle shouting, the other cats listened,
They scrubbed and they cleaned till the whole yard did glisten.
When they finally finished , they went on their way
To the porch where the cat food aways does stay
With a bucket full of rags from the work they had done
And hearts full of joy for together ‘twas fun
And then, in a twinkling, I heard after that
The meowing and purring of each little cat
After eating they left, don’t know where they did go
 They just turned and went down the road in the snow
But I heard them exclaim, ere they walked out of sight,

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!
