A Voice for the Voiceless

Good Friday fell on April 10th this year. As you probably know, it's the day we remember Jesus' death on the cross for us. It's a solemn day, which many use to prepare their heats and minds for Easter Sunday. Sunday, being the day Jesus rose again, is more a day of rejoicing. Now we can live forever and ever, with Him.
For many, this past weekend felt odd this year. In fact, the whole world sort of seems off. For some, it's not going to church to celebrate Jesus' resurrection together that hit the worst. For others, it's not being able to see your grandparents, or other family members. Maybe it's not gathering together for a big Easter meal this year that changed your weekend.
I can understand being disappointed about any of these things. The real reason I'm writing this post though, is to bring to light something else that happened last weekend.
This year on Good Friday, the day we remember Jesus' sufferings for us, laws were passed to cause more suffering for many.

Our governor, Governor Ralph Northam, passed serval laws to make it easier and guilt-free to get an abortion. He said he was proud to sign these laws. This "act will make women and families safer," he said. I'm wondering though, what happened to make an unborn child no longer part of the family? For thousands of years, mothers have been known for being nurturing, protecting and caring for their young. Why is it that now they want to right to kill them?
In 2018, 16,070 abortions were preformed in Virginia. With these new laws, will this number be even larger for 2020? If stores and businesses and dentist offices and parks have to close down, why does Planned Parenthood stay open? After all, more deaths occur inside of those doors than from the Corona Virus.

  1. Oh, my. It's awful what laws they have been passing. How can abortion make women and families safer!?!?"
