2018 - A New Year- Goals and Resolutions

Can you believe that there's less than four days till 2018?! A new year! A great opportunity to start fresh, be more organized, and so much more! Today I'm going to be talking about goals and resolutions for the new year.

  ***************************************************************************

I personally think that setting goals/resolutions for the new year is something everyone should do. Whether it be something generic (like be more patient), or something specific (like earn a specific amount of money), setting goals for the new year is a great idea!
It's really nice to have some type of notebook/planner to help you accomplish your goals. Some people like to make bullet journals, but if you're not up to making something like that, you can buy a nice planner or agenda from Wal-Mart or Target. Or, if you'd rather just get a notebook, there are tons of options to choose from! Here's one for sale on Amazon.com - I think that Bible verse would be great to have on a notebook in which you plan to write your goals and resolutions

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me." Philippians 4:13

*************************************************************************

For starters, I would decide on some goals for the new year. A few of mine are:

  • Read my Bible more
  • Post once a week on my blog
  • Exercise and drink water more
Then I'd write them down. If you're using a planner, see if it has a spot to write goals. If not, there's sometimes a sections for notes, or maybe you could use the inside cover.
After writing your goals, make a game plan. For example, I might plan to post on my blog every Saturday. And read the Bible every morning. Decide on these things. You could add these things to your planner, or, if your using a notebook, you could make a basic list for each day of the week. Here's an example:

Saturday
Ready
Bible time
Breakfast
Chores
Exercise
Post on blog
Sticky Note List

You can keep it simple, or make it more complicated! What I mean by "Sticky Note List" is the random things you have/want to do, but you don't do it every week. Some ideas might include : prepare a friend's birthday gift, deep clean bedroom, play a game, etc. You could write these type of things on a sticky note, and stick it to your wall, or inside your notebook/planner. Make a new one each morning, or better yet, the night before. Just be sure to not add too much, so that you're not too stressed!

Also, be sure to pray about your goals/resolutions. You can ask God to show you if there's anything He wants you to add, and you can ask for help to accomplish the goals if they're things He wants you to do.

  And don't forget-
 "Ideas without action are useless."
-Helen KellerIdeas without action are useless.

Make an effort to actually do the things you wrote. You'll feel so good about it if you do!

Before you leave: Last year I wrote a similar post. Check it out HERE!

Have you set any goals or resolutions for the new year? Are you going to use a planner/notebook? Have a great rest of 2017!!!

  2. I am SO. FOR. RESOLUTIONS. And goal-setting. And journalling about goals. AND THEN THE VICTORY OF SMASHING A GOAL IN DA BUD.

I love your resolutions! Any idea where you'll start in your Bible reading? And what are you doing to drink more water (weird question, I know, but I know it always helps me drink more water if I have a special water bottle)?

    1. Well, I'm actually in John, so I want to finish that. But then I'm not sure... maybe one of the smaller books in the New Testament :) For Christmas, my older sister got me a big cup with a lid and straw I've been using, and it does seem to help. Or maybe it was.. I don't know if I'm gonna be doing anything specific, just trying to drink more :D Thanks for commenting!!!
